Considering Kitchen Size: How to Maximize Space

Choosing brand new appliances and cabinets can be such fun when designing a new kitchen! But before you buy, you need to talk with your builder or remodeling contractor to see how much space you have and what appliances will fit into a configuration that gives you an efficient work triangle. No matter what size kitchen you have - small, medium, or large, your kitchen can in fact be designed to meet your exact needs and look absolutely beautiful.

Small Kitchen

Just think cozy, yet very carefully designed. For tiny kitchens, you want to maximize space by taking from an adjoining pantry, closet or maybe from a few feet from the next room. But you can add more space visually too by adding a large window, skylight or go dramatic with a cathedral ceiling.

Medium Kitchen

The convenience and comfort of a mid-size kitchen is standard in most homes. There are design tricks you can use to make your mid-size kitchen seem larger like locate the range at the end of a counter, instead of the middle. This creates a lengthy amount of unbroken work space.

Large Kitchen

In a large kitchen, you want to focus on entertaining and impressing. Large kitchens are big enough to be a living space for communal cooking, enjoying hobbies, doing homework and many other activities. There is ample space for amenities like islands, double wall oven and sink, second dishwasher, side by side fridge with large refrigeration drawers and etc. Large kitchens are all about indulgence.
