Why Function is Important When Selecting Kitchen Appliances

Wed Sep 07 2011

How do you cook? Are you a throw it on the grill type of guy? Do you prefer microwave dinners? Are you the farm-to-table kind of cook? All of these questions are very important when selecting kitchen appliances because they all deal with function. Many consumers sometimes get distracted by certain appliances that have the neat advanced features and the shiny or colorful exteriors, but you need to focus on what you need. If you are a gourmet cook with a large family, then yes, a six burner industrial strength oven is a good investment for you. However, if you are an on-the-go family with limited time on your hands, a basic four burner oven may suit your needs just fine.

For those meat lovers who love cooking large meats like turkeys and hams, or simply cook more than one meal at a time, you need to make sure you have a sizable oven that has a higher BTU (the amount of heat the stove can produce). If you are more of a breakfast cooker, griddles are great for making a tasty morning meal. And for all the bakers out there, make sure you focus on convection ovens that have even cooking temperatures.

The refrigerator is also important too. If you are planning on storing large party trays of food or large meats, a "side by side" fridge may not be the best option. Instead, choose one that has a freezer on the top or bottom because they have wider storage areas.

Think through your functional needs in the kitchen, along with your kitchen design, so you can find the right appliances that fit the way you cook. Still need help? Stop by and speak with any of our knowledgeable sales team who will be more than happy to assist you.
