Is Your EGG Frozen Shut?

Is your Big Green Egg frozen shut from this frigid winter weather? Follow these tips from the pros:

Crumple up some newspaper, put it through the bottom draft vent, and light it. This should ignite the charcoal, heat the EGG, and free the seal (usually takes about 20-30 min). If for some reason this is not an option, the EGG can be brought into a warmer indoor area (like a garage) and let sit (about 24 hrs).

To prevent freezing, you can run a piece of aluminum foil between the two halves, or prop the lid up slightly by placing a small object between the two halves so the lid does not fully close.
