clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I have only had this range for a couple of weeks. The control panel across the back of the range is large - the actual controls are tiny - I can only see them with a pair of readers!! And, there are 2 ovens - and only ONE timer. And, like others - it will not sit flush to the wall without replacing the gas line. I replaced an inexpensive LG double oven range and was hoping this one would be a big improvement - now I regret my decision.

When we purchased this model, there was not one in the store to check out. A friend had bought one and was so excited about it that when we moved we decided to buy all Kitchenaid appliances. I am happy so far! The timer and oven controls are taking a little time to get used to (We have had it for approximately 2 months)! The only downside I have really noted so far is having to basically disassemble the stovetop to clean it!

Dangerous Oven to Own

1) Oven will not sit even close to flush against the wall because there is not near enough space provided for gas and electrical hookups 2) I have one burner that has a hard time lighting for unknown reasons. Many times I have tried to light the burner only to have it emit too much gas before finally igniting with a whoosh. 3) I have had appliance repair out 6 times trying to stop a gas leak at the regulator. They have replaced twice and keep saying it is working itself loose some how. This time the repairman added the gas rated version of Loctite...was leaking again in less than an hour.

We just completed a total kitchen remodel and this 5 burner gas double oven is simply the best! It is the showpiece in the kitchen with its professional grade handles, velvety smooth burner dials, gorgeous double ovens with convection, I just cant wait for the holidays! Exceptional quality, perfect design and this baby makes you want to stay in the kitchen and cook all day long! Do yourself a favor, treat yourself to this wonderful piece of art, not just an appliance.

This appliance was exactly what I needed to replace the new glass top range in our model home. Not only did I prefer gas, but I needed two ovens because of my dietary needs. I am pleased with the product.
