Unexpected Quality and Customer Service

We bought 2 of these for storage and to help raise the washer and dryer to a better working height and that job was easily accomplished. But the problems were evident from the first use. When the washer goes into a high spin, the slightest vibration from the washer causes the upper panel of the pedestal to vibrate/flap like crazy and it sounds like a plane ready for takeoff! The second issue is that when you pull out the drawers, the drawer bottom rubs against the pedestal frame as you pull it out and can get hung up on the frame thus making it difficult to pull out or push in. It's just not built well. This happens even with the drawer empty, so you can imagine how much worse it is when adding some weight to it. Several calls to GE resulted in the customer service reps each time saying that the pedestal is not a warrantied item and that we could solve the problem by simply purchasing another one. Imagine buying a new car with a door that rubs against the fender whenever you open and close it and the dealer saying, it's not a warrantied item, just go buy a new car if you want the problem solved. And I'm sure the one would have the same problem. It's a design fault. Highly disappointed with the products and the customer service regarding this issue.

This stand is perfect and raises both my washer and dryer 16 inches higher so I don't have to bend down to uncomfortable levels on my back and knees. I'm 6'3 and the stand is perfect for me and my wife. It also stores all the large bottles of softener, detergent and bleach. Upgrade your unit to enjoy the most out of.
So disappointed!

We’ve had nothing but problems with our pedestal after just a few days! My husband even raised our cabinets to accommodate them prior to delivery. At first the empty drawer was opened and wouldn’t close. After the repairman replaced the rails, it rattled loudly when open and closed. Now, again it’s stuck in the open position. I want a new pedestal!
Just what I needed!

Heavy duty and very roomy to store all kinds of stuff!
Good height, but feels cheap for the cost

These are expensive for what they are. The build feels a little cheap. For $250-300 I would expect a smoother opening and maybe a soft gently close like on nicer kitchen drawers or toolboxes.
