my drier is only 4 years old. the first several years of ownership was great. no issues at all. now that it is out of standard warranty im running into problems. the dryer is noisy, vibrates, and sounds like i will have to replace parts. disappointing when you pay so much for what you believe is quality and proves nothing lasts like it used to.

i’ve had my dryer only less than 4 years and i noticed it was making an odd squealing noise about a year ago. now it progressed to a loud continuous thumping noise as if i’m drying a dozen shoes inside! i can’t even run the dryer at night because it would keep us awake! i’m learning that this is a common problem and it may be due to a split in the welding of the drum so it may not be rolling smoothly. samsung should take accountability for this defect. i’ve never seen a dryer go down so soon.

just like the reviews before mine my lovely super expensive all-world samsung dryer is making noise like theres body parts inside. turns out after paying for a diagnostic that the rollers, pulley and belt all need to be replaced and of course its conveniently out of warranty. getting quotes to fix that are ranging from $250-$600 with parts. samsung might as well slap everyone in the face and put a kick me sticker on their back for buying this dryer that seems to fail everyone on years 2-3.

after three years, we started hearing thumping and then noticed a seam had split in the dryer, exposing sharp metal. the replacement drum is expensive (not including labor). repair it or replace it?
