clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
My first Maytag oven. I have owned it since February and I would recommend as long as you don't have kids. The knobs turn the gas on so easy it's not funny. While reaching above the oven to put something away I turned it on. My contractor brushed against it and didn't realize until you smell the gas. I love the convection and easy to clean the inside.
