Discolored and Loud

This was Toll Bros. installed. We have owned it since May, 2017. The metal around the two hood lights has discolored and taken on the appearance of over-heated metal. Sort of oil slick looking. The fan is so loud we actually avoid using it and cook outside as much as possible- tough in the NJ winter. The unit looks nice but is not all that useful given the noise level and discoloration caused by heat of the two lamps. Why are they not LED lamps?

I got this fan when remodeling my entire kitchen and I LOVE it! It works great and is very quiet considering how much power it has. Cleans up easily and looks beautiful with my stovetop.

This hood is amazing. I use a cast iron grill pan to finish Sous Vide steaks and it used to fill the house with smoke, This thing moves so much air you wouldn't even notice. It is a bit loud but the functionality is way worth the noise.
