clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This is a lovely cooktop and appears to be of good quality, however, the grates are too tall. Boiling a pan of water takes absolutely forever! I love the simmer feature, but I use my cooktop to cook, and the design just appears to be a major flaw when I have to wait a ridiculous amount of time for the heat to do it's thing.

The cooktop grates are too far away from the burners. Takes forever to hat something. Would rather have had 4 good size burners than five.

So happy with my recent purchase; burners light instantly and have good adjustments from simmer to high boil. It's beautiful and the grates make it easy to slide pots across. Glad I made this purchase!
