Frigidaire Named 2011 Energy Star Partner of the Year

A Mountain High Appliance vendor has been awarded the name of Energy Star Partner of the Year for Product Manufacturer by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Electrolux, the maker of Frigidaire brand appliances, has received this high honor for "their leadership in addressing climate change through energy efficiency," as stated by Elizabeth Craig, Acting Director of EPA’s Office of Atmospheric Programs. The Energy Star Partner of the Year for Product Manufacturer recognizes Electrolux for increasing their delivery and selection of ENERGY STAR-qualified appliances in addition to their commitment to educating the consumer on the ENERGY STAR program.

According to the press release, in 2010 Frigidaire encouraged consumers to replace old appliances with Energy-Star-qualified appliances through the Swap and Save program, so their old appliances could be recycled. This program has saved U.S. consumers more than $240 million dollars in energy savings and more than 7.4 billion gallons of water.
